World Aids Day

 


On the occasion of World Aids Day, Rotary Jamshedpur Green organised an awareness program on HIV at GNM school of Nursing MGM Hospital, Sakchi. The talk was delivered by Dr.(Prof.) Nirmal Kumar to the Nursing students and the dignitaries present there.He briefly explained the causes of HIV , how it is transmitted and how proper treatment can help people with HIV healthy life. Since December is disease prevention month, our club has decided to adopt 6 HIV positive children whose parents died of HIV with nutritious food for 6 months. These children are not orphans, they live with their relatives. Dr Balram Jha , who is Nodal Officer of ART Centre and HOD Medicine has given consent to our proposal. The Hospital Superintendent and Head of the Departments (Dr.) of MGM were present on the occasion. Beautiful Rangoli on HIV awareness was made by the nursing students of the hostel.

Bone Density and Vitamin D Test


 Bone Density & Vitamin D Check Up 
Rotary Club Of Jamshedpur Green organised free bone density and Vitamin D Check Up for the 46 inmates of the missionary Of Charity. The inmates who were diagnosed with osteoporosis and osteopenia were given Vitamin D supplements  under the guidance of Dr (Prof.) Nirmal Kumar.

Thalassemia Awareness

 

Rotary Club Of Jamshedpur Green organised an awareness program on Thalassemia in the auditorium of Netaji Subhash University, Pokhari, Jamshedpur. A detailed lecture on Thalassemia was delivered by Dr. (Prof.) Nirmal Kumar, Retired head of the department of medicine.Its prevalence,incidence, treatment and prevention were explained in detail.More emphasis were given on the early detection of the carriers. I,e Beta and Alpha Thalassemia. People with Thalassemia trait do not have any particular symptoms or problems except mild anemia. Hence, people should try themselves tested before marriage or before planning to have children. The Anurag Foundation also participated and its President shared video clip and explained about its support and help available from them. Rtn. Neelam Jayaswal gave a brief overview about our club and how it functions socially and in educating people by doing various awareness program.

River Cleaning

Project River cleaning: Rotary Jamshedpur Green in association with Jamshedpur Next Gen took an initiative to clean the river and the river bank. Three members of Jamshedpur Green and 2 members of Next Gen attended the project. This initiative reflects the Rotary Clubs ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and community welfare. The members expressed hope that their efforts will inspire others to be more mindful of proper waste disposal during public celebrations. The clubs also urged citizens to participate in maintaining the cleanliness of public spaces and emphasized the importance of eco-friendly practices during festivals.

Ganesh Chaturthi With Transgenders

 

A newly chartered Rotary Club Of Jamshedpur Green, District 3250 has started working in all focus areas of Rotary. Jamshedpur Green  leads the way by standing in solidarity for inclusion and recognising transgender community ,thus paving the way for mainstreaming gender beyond binary narratives in Jamshedpur.

"Jamshedpur Green" in association with transgenders community of Jamshedpur celebrated the "Ganesh Chaturthi". The President of Jamshedpur Rtn Ananna Dutta, Rtn Dr Rtn Ekata Agrawal, Rtn Neelam Agrawal , Rtn Souvik Saha and Rtn Kusum Thakur were present on the occasion . They had bhog there with the transgenders and the members of Jamshedpur Green gifted them sarees.
